Eintracht Frankfurt Faces Liverpool in UCL Fixture

Game Highlights

Liverpool's manager implemented several changes to the starting XI after the 2-1 defeat to United over the weekend. Salah starting on the bench is one of the major surprises, while Wirtz returns to the starting side. Ekitike, Curtis Jones, and Jeremie Frimpong—each of them added energy as replacements in the previous match—have been named in the lineup, together with Robertson. Kerkez, Conor Bradley, and Mac Allister drop to the substitutes' bench, and Gravenberch is unavailable because of an knock.

Preamble

After losing four matches consecutively, Liverpool aren't quite heading towards uncharted waters. But, the last time the team suffered five consecutive defeats in a row was during 1953, under Don Welsh. That season resulted in the drop from the old First Division.

Currently, nobody's claiming that the team are going down now. Yet the manager will be eager to avoid repeating that piece of history. Liverpool must get their domestic and Champions League seasons back on track as soon as possible.

Eintracht Frankfurt's first two fixtures in this season's tournament finished with a 5-1 scoreline—a victory at home over Galatasaray and an away defeat at Madrid. The Reds, on the other hand, have defeated the side Eintracht were beaten by, and been defeated by the one they beat. So, forecasting this match proves particularly challenging.

The unpredictable fun begins at 8 p.m. BST. It's on!
